My First Fix...Eh...

I got my first Stitch Fix delivery a few days ago. I was so excited about it y'all! I've heard so many great things about it and couldn't wait to see what my stylist sent me.

Here's what was in my fix.

#1- Navy striped dress
I actually liked this piece. It was comfy and really soft. It was just a little too big though.

#2- Crochet tank
This was really cute too. I would've preferred a different color though. And the price was a little too much for me, even with the $20 styling fee credit.

#3- Chevron maxi skirt
This was my favorite piece of my fix but when I sent this picture to a friend she said she'd seen it at Kohl's...for a cheaper price than the Stitch Fix price. I don't know about ya'll, but if I'm going to spend a good chunk of my measly teacher salary on a skirt I don't want it to be on an overpriced one that I could get at Kohl's.

#4- Navy blouse
This was my least favorite piece. It didn't really have any shape at all when I put it on. The lace on the back hem was a cute detail but I felt sort of old-lady in this shirt.

#5- Earrings
These are cute in the box but my hair is really long and thick so I prefer a more substantial earring that doesn't get lost/tangled in it.

I didn't want to lose my $20 styling fee but I couldn't justify keeping any of these pieces. I've learned through the years not to buy something if it's just "ok"- I have to LOVE it. I adjusted my Stitch Fix profile so hopefully the next delivery will be more successful!

What has your experience with Stitch Fix been like so far?

Wordless Wednesday!

Good mid-morning y'all! Today I'm linking up with Sugar and Spice for my first Wordless Wednesday!

This post isn't about teaching today. It's about my journey to becoming healthier. Austin is one of the best places to get healthy- so much inspiration everywhere you look. People on bikes (sometimes they're crazy y'all!), running the trails on Lady Bird Lake and the large ginormous Whole Foods flagship store on Lamar where I could spend hours upon hours just browsing.

I'm so glad I live in a place where taking care of your body and living a healthy lifestyle are so predominant. Makes it so much easier to keep going to reach my goals!

My question for you is- what are some places where you live that give you the opportunity to be active?

Be sure to link up over at Sugar and Spice and share your picture on Instagram with the hashtag #wordlesswednesday!

Shout out!

As y'all know I'm new to this whole blogging business. And I'm one of the most technologically disadvantaged gals out there. So I wanted to just give a quick but HUGE shout out and THANK YOU to my fabulous blogger friend Molly over at KinderMolly. She helped me figure out how to create links from pictures. Seems simple right? I seriously tried and tried and tried and just could NOT figure it out. Then Molly came in a saved my day (and yup, it was way too easy to do). Love ya! Go check her out!

Meet Me Monday Linky!

I discovered this "Meet Me Monday" linky from Christina over at Sugar and Spice who linked up with The Teaching Tribune.

So for this lil' linky party we have to share 3 things our readers probably wouldn't know about us. I'm never good at thinking of these things y'all! It's like my brain immediately freezes when someone asks me "What's something I wouldn't know about you?" or "Tell me something unique or interesting about yourself."............ <---That's what my brain does. Goes blank. But here goes!

Whew, that wasn't as bad as I thought! Thanks for stopping by and learning a little about me! Make sure to go by The Teaching Tribune to link up. Just click the button!

First Pinspired Thursday Linky!

I have neglected this pretty little blog for a few weeks now. I've been moving and unpacking and settling in and blogging all about my adventures here in my new city of Austin (go check out Explore. Adventure. Austin. to read all about them!)

I have this awesome Instagram friend, Just A Primary Girl, who I'm linking up with (or trying to link up with as this is my first attempt at "linking up") today for Pinspired Thursday.

I have a TON of Pinterest projects that I want to do (as I'm sure we all do). I've had some successes and some #majorfails too. So I'll share a success with you today! :)

I'm pretty organized as it is but when it comes to little things like paper clips, push pins, rubber bands, binder clips, etc. I can get kind of really lazy about putting them in their proper spots. Enter the famous teacher tool box. This one is from Mel D. at Seusstastic. Y'all, I'm still learning about all this blog stuff- I don't know how to make the picture an actual link to the pin so here's the link to her post.

And here's mine!

Obviously there are some major differences, as in hers is WAAY cuter than mine. I just used scrapbook paper taped to the inside but I want some picture labels like hers. But I am definitely a lot more organized with all those little office supplies than before!

Now I'll share a couple things I want to make this summer that I'll try to include on future Monday Made It posts.

Since I just moved to Austin I'm in the process of decorating my new apartment. It's quite a change moving from a house back to apartment living but I'm determined to make it cute!

One thing I want to have is a super cute, comfy, relaxing balcony. I love to sit outside in the mornings to drink a cup of coffee and read. Plus, it's what all the other people in the complex see and I want them to think "Wow, that balcony is awesome, I bet the people that live there are awesome too!" (Is that weird that I think that? Oh, well. I don't care!) ;-)

Isn't this just pretty?? I mean, who wouldn't want to hang out here?

Moving to Austin has really inspired me to become healthier and more active. To be healthier you have to eat healthier. To eat healthier you should probably know how to cook healthy foods. I do not know how to cook, much less cook healthy foods. But I WANT to learn and am going to try a few recipes a week. This is one of the first things I want to try.

This came from a website called Budget Savvy Diva. Not sure what sides to make with it though...any suggestions??

Yay for my first linky!! I'm real proud of myself y'all! Hope everyone is having a fantabulous summer so far!

June Currently!

This is my first "currently" and let me tell you, I am so technologically disadvantaged it's sad ridiculous! I couldn't figure out how to download, upload, save as...I need a training class for all this blog stuff! :)

One thing that I'm uber excited about right now is that I'm posting this on my conference period. People, it's HUGE for me to NOT work during my conference period. But it's the *last day of school!* so I'm taking it easy! {Insert pat on my back here.}

Happy summer friends!!
